There have been fears that the rise of artificial intelligence will decimate the workforce leaving thousands out of a job, not so says a new report.
The report issued by PriceawaterhouseCoopers says that AI will actually create a net 200,000 jobs over the next year. This would be the result of a displacement of 7 million jobs and creation 7.2 million jobs.
The report continues to explain that there will be no sector to dodge the impact of AI with jobs in transport and travel heavily hit by the introduction of driverless fleets and robots.
Many companies such as Uber have adopted driverless technology and with more developments on the horizon, it could not be long before most taxi’s have driverless capabilities.
However the report dispelled some fears over industries such as law and accounting where it was widely thought robots would almost take over the role of human. Businesses and individuals are already enjoying automation as new applications make accounting and tax affairs easier to deal with.
